What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

When In California...

...never let the guy from Boston order your bachelor party cake.

Thanks to Jerry F., who was the real stah of the pahty.

This is my favorite post EVER!! Too funny! Took me a second to figure it out, but now I can't stop laughing!!

August 10, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterChristina

Ok so it took me a minute or so to figure out it's supposed to actually read "Very Special Party" Sheesh them New Englanders can really confuse you!

August 10, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterAmy

I think the tiny buttercream boobies at the top are nice touch.

August 10, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterTripleduty911

August 10, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterRachel

I thought it was suppose to read "Jerry's Bachelor Party" No?

August 10, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterJess

I think it's supposed to be "Jerry's Bachelor Party"?

August 10, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterAbby

Isn't that supposed to read "Jerry's Bachelor Party"?

August 10, 2011 | Unregistered Commenterbabird1

Yep, had to read that out loud a couple of times to see how they got "Jerry Spachla party" from "Jerry's bachelor party". Got a weird look from my husband.

August 10, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterJill

I read that out loud and proceeded to choke back tears of laughter. Oh, Cake Wrecks, how I love you.

August 10, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterAmy

Is it supposed to say "Jerry's Bachelor Party"...?!

August 10, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterLana

To the poster who thinks it's supposed to read "very special party" - I think it's actually "Jerry's Bachelor Party"...

August 10, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterJess

Haha, they didn't get "pahty" right though.

That cake is a wicked big disappointment, since it also looks like there's something growing on it.

August 10, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterMaria

no no Amy, Jerry's Bachelor Party.... I have a wicked pissah accent.

August 10, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterJen

Actually, I believe it's supposed to read Jerry's Bachelor Party. This New Englander got it right away - and loved it! Wicked good wreck!

August 10, 2011 | Unregistered Commentergrannypom

Not "Very Special Party" Amy...

It's supposed to be "Jerry's Bachelor Party".

Though cake at a bachelor party sounds like a bad idea. They're usually more like "a case of beer per person" parties than "cake" parties.

August 10, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterGreg

I think its supposed to be jerrys bachelor party. Or as I'd say it jehrys baa-chlah pahty

August 10, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterFerret

That cake is wicked awesome!

August 10, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterAnndii

So can't find the post about where to contact you about errors. but when you click on the Cake Wrecks logo at the top of the screen it takes you back to the blogspot page. Just learned this when I went to go view the other post from today.

August 10, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterJess

HAHAHHAHA I too had to read the comment at the top a few times to figure it out...hahhahaha I LOVE Cake Wrecks...whenever I need a real good deliver every time!! Thanks!

August 10, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterVictoria

All Spachla parties need to be at Spatula City, Spatula City. Bachelor Parties extra.

August 10, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterMimiheart

it's Mad Gab -- the Cake Wreck edition!!

August 10, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterAshley

Is it supposed to be Jerry's Bachelor Party? Maybe its a new kind of theme party, you know, a "Jerry Spachla" party? Maybe the groom-to-be's name is Jerry Spachla? Maybe Jerry is having a "Spachla" party, where everyone has to bring a spatchula and, uh...doing things with them?

August 10, 2011 | Unregistered Commenteranonymous

But why is it fuzzy? is it growing mould... or is it just navel lint?

August 10, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterPotCallingKettle

Well, I read Jerry "Spackle" party and got a whole (n)other idea. Well, at least there will be lots of caulk at the bachelor party!

August 10, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterAnna

Oops, you're all correct - in my defense as I was repeating it over and over out loud to myself trying to figure it out my 7 year old walked in to tell me he couldn't sleep. I'm guessing he was bothered by the quizzical wording too. LOL

Either way - the poster to stated the additional boobies on the top of the cake made me scroll back up and take another look at yet another classic wreck!

August 10, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterAmy

I thought it was "spackle" the first 10 or so times I read it. Finally I went back and reread the first comment about it being for a bachelor party and got it.

August 10, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterLean

Spachla city
We sell spachlas
And that's all

August 10, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterJessie

Ha ha ha ha!!! It's EPCOT!

@Mimiheart: That's one of my all-time favorite movies.

August 10, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterKen

I don't know what that is written with... but I wouldn't eat it!

August 10, 2011 | Unregistered Commentermeeshybee

@Ken That's because it's one of the all-time best movies ever.

August 10, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterMimiheart

Personally, I prefer Whisk Parties.

August 10, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterBets

@Mimiheart - I was trying to sing that bit to you, but I couldn't get my head around just typing your name in my post. Doh!

August 10, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterJessie

I transplanted from Oregon to Maine 6 years ago. I had to read this out loud and think in my husbands voice so it made sense. Thank you for bringing tears to my eyes yet again and making my husband roll his eyes when he came to see what I was snorting about.

August 10, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterStacey

thank goodness someone posted what it said- I feel like a goober but I didn't get it (sigh)

I am scared by the fuzziness (I'm allergic to coconut but that's not the reason- I was just watching Restaurant Impossible with a mold laden kitchen).

August 10, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterBarbara Anne

I think it's supposed to say "Epcot."

August 10, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterJulie

OMG! I had a really long day at the hospital with my mom, and this just made me laugh so hard (after I said it out loud enough times to figure it out, of course). Thank you for the levity, I needed that!

August 10, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterAnnie

It's also so... FLUFFY... *shudder*

August 10, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterBethAnn

i think thats supposed to be coconut shavings
but it could also be the rare form of algae known as
cakis algais

August 11, 2011 | Unregistered Commenterkate

Isn't it supposed to be Jerry's Spatula Party? What, you haven't heard of spatula parties? Doesn't everyone have spatula parties?

August 11, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterDonna

Maybe that should have used that "Spatchla" to smooth it out a bit.

August 11, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterKristen

Okay, this is the hardest I've laughed at a cake wreck in a LONG time. And I laugh at these posts every day! Grew up in Western Mass ... with people who talked like this. Just classic!

August 11, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterMina

I love how fast the older postings load. It used to shut down my computer. This is fabulous. Creepy Baby cake...shudder.

August 11, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterJanice

Now that it had time to sink in... I can't help but hear it in the voice of Fran Drescher

August 11, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterClaire

It's like that boardgame Mad Gab!! HA HA!

August 11, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterJustyne

That is a Smokin' heap of epcottery up there, but I've got More Than a Feeling that's the end of it. Still, for everyone's Peace of Mind, it's probably best that we Don't Look Back at it.

Something something Amanda something.

August 11, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterNaomi

I can sound just like I'm from Boston, even though I'm from Idaho... but I thought It was supposed to be "Jerry Sparkler Party", which still didn't make any sense.... lol
