What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

Love the 70s themed one! That makes me want to put on bellbottoms and get a Farrah do!

Love Kermit, too. Never understood the lyric "so many songs about rainbows" though. Other than "Somewhere over the Rainbow" and "Rainbow Connection" there really aren't that many songs about rainbows other than just mentioning them in passing.

Beautiful! Shouldn't this be "The Rainbow Confection"? ;D

Wow! This post just made me smile - especially when I got to the last cake! I heart Kermit!

I will echo everyone else and say that this was the best post ever. I love rainbows--I am always compelled to arrange things in rainbow order: Skittles, M&Ms, you name it."Rainbow Connection" is one of my favorite songs, whether sung by Kermit, or on the CD The Green Album with Weezer singing the song.

My heart (and my eyes) turned into a big puddle while reading this post.

The cakes are gorgeous! I tried and failed to find the recipes for easy cakes (what I think I can do). I have tried to explain to local bakeries (and big grocery chains) what I want, but it was a no go. How hard is it to get a rainbow ice cream cake? I live in the French part of Canada. I was asked to explain what I want in French. I went in for a cake and left with a geography lesson (this is QC speak french).

I just found this site and it's out of sight!!! I hope I can't find anything, because it's almost 2:30am - tired. If you don't post recipes, what can I do?
