What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

Maybee that sheep´s been woolblind and just had a wigging? And now it´s all "ooohh the lights! Whooo-hooo!!"

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterMental_Mama

That there is 'Harold'. He's one of those most dangerous of animals -- a clever sheep.

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterCraig

So hysterically funny!!! :) As usual, the comments make it even funnier!! Stifling laughs & grinning like that sheep. LOL. :P

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterStephanie

That baker has been watching the Deathly Hallows, part 2 far too many times.

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterKina

From the creators of the Silence of the Lambs comes the epic tale of 'The Sheep that would not shut up'

The war on whimsy:
Tie yellow ribbon round the
old ovine. Then run!

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterHaiku Joy

Oh my. I 've never laughed so much at a cake before this one.

I think you just found your new book cover. I know i would proudly display it, and watch my guests horrified/amused faces when they see "him".

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterEmmyn

First mad cow's disease... now mad sheep's disease?!

Hide yo' kid, hide yo' goat.

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterLori

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterTerrie

Absolution horrifying!

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterWendy

I love Timmy! But I'm glad the wreckerators did not try to actually make replica of him (or Shaun). That would be horrifying.

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterVicki

Is it supposed to be Donkey from Shrek in a bunny costume? Anyway, I think I'm scarred for life now.

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterLisa T

That has to be one of the first times I've actually yelled "AHHHHHHH!" while looking at CW and I've been surfing the site for a year now. Wow. That is the creepiest cake ever.

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterCindy

LOL LOL I scared myself when I saw that! LOL

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterJean

I actually exclaimed in terror when I saw this! Then I laughed so hard I had tears in my eyes.

That thing is terrifying!

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered Commenternightliz

First picture: He's kinda cute.

Second picture: uh-oh

Third picture: more horrifying than previously anticipated.

You guys rock. The way these pictures lead to that cake . . . shudder.

"The entrance to this cave is guarded by a creature so foul, so cruel that no man yet has fought with it and lived. Bones of full fifty men lie strewn about its lair. So, brave knights, if you do doubt your courage or your strength, come no further, for death awaits you all with nasty, big, pointy teeth..."

*high pitched scream lasting as long as it takes for me to pass out*

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterJen

OK, really.

What is with these cakes for the past couple of days? I thought the Frankenbaby with Fists of Steel was bad, but this is just completely inexplicable. Underbite Sheep with Exophthalmia? Just jaw-droppingly bizarre.

Once again I ask: Do bakers REALLY expect people to eat these? They ARE cakes, yes??

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterFM

zoomom and Sharyn... brilliant

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterSammi

That is terrifying!

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterThey Call Me Crafty

I can't stop looking at it and laughing. I would totally buy this cake just because of how bad funny it is. It's Shaun of the Sheep mets Shaun of the Dead! Bwahahaha!

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterRixie

some people are asking how a baker could make a sheep like this... i think the question is why?

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered Commentermn_me

that is the scariest cake I have ever seen

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered Commenternebuchudnessar

I love Harry Potter!!!! And I thought-no, I KNOW that Voldemort doesn't have a nose. The sheep doesn't have a nose either, where did they get it from??? I still want that cake. I know it's weird, but it's bloody brilliant somehow. (I'm thinking of Ron now) Loving the comments too! And remember: "Fear of a name increases fear of the thing itself"' ~Dumbledore, book 1.

Poor Timmy!!! He doesn't deserve that!!!! ;(

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterRachel

Don't get Wooldemort angry or he'll cast Baaaavada Kedavra on you. (That's either the Killing Curse or the Knitting Curse - the latter of which forces you to endlessly knit wool sweaters for everyone.)

"Cake of the baker, unwillingly given. Talent of the decorator, willingly sacrificed. Cash of the customer, forcibly taken. The Dark Sheep shall rise again."

This made my day!

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered Commenterelizabeth

okay, so I'm sending out mad love (non-creepy variety) to Sharyn, zoomom, SuzieQ and RZ...the post had me snicker and just being so proud to have met Jen but the comments make me want to hold a CW convention so we can all meet!!!

that last one- I couldn't find the funny. this one- has me laughing and really wanting that cake for my very own. and I would love him and hug him and call him George.

(P.S. I always have mad love for J, J(thoJ) and the whole CW crew so don't think I disrespected them.)

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterBarbara Anne

Y'know what it looks like? Ren from Ren and Stimpy! In a Bunny costume! For Easter!
Yeah, man!!

Dear God, I literally jumped when I scrolled down and saw that in full.

And for pity's sake, why the bunny bonnet ? On a sheep. A creepy sheep with tombstone teeth and Marty Feldman's eyes.

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterG F Taylor

I must learn not to check Cake Wrecks right before bedtime. *shudder*

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterPhil

@Barbara Anne: Group Hug! Wouldn't it be great if all the regulars -- and anyone else who wants to come -- could get together in the bunker for a game of Balderdash and some snacks? (I'll bet Craig would bring Theardare if we asked nicely...)

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterSharyn

Oh great, thanks Mary. Now I'm going to be snickering through the easter service at church. Although I usually find something to snicker about at church.

March 30, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterLetitia

oh my gosh! I can't not look at it! That is so disturbing on so many levels.

March 30, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterSandy

I swear that sheep looks just like a character I've seen, but I can't place it. Not the Pixar thing.

And Caroline B, I've seen Black Sheep. For reals.
