What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

Friday Favs

Welp, it's Friday. Time for Jen's Favorite Quick Laughs of the Week!

(See, if I capitalize it that makes it all official-like.)

I call this one, "'Cuz McDonalds is hiring."

I don't want to eat them; I just want to order a couple. Loudly.

"Steamrolled Minnie"

Anyone else having Roger Rabbit flashbacks?

(On the plus side, now she qualifies for flat-rate shipping!)

"When A Farewell Turns Curiously Personal"

Wreck or no? Me, I could go either way.

Have you heard? "Death by Chocolate" is so last week.

The newest trend in desserts is "Death by Giant Ice Cream Cone."

Now we just need a man biscuit topped with a chocolate piano.

"Mischief Managed"

Best. Wedding display. Ever.

Thanks to Jessica P., Sam D., Julie R., Karen B., Letty B., & Jennifer C. for putting the backwards "YA!" in "Friday."

@JustAndrea: I don't believe I've experienced an "alpha-numerical system" quite like that one of yours...It must call your head its magical playground. I mean that with freshly-picked respect and a twirly curtsy! =^~.~^=

Looking next to the icecream cone and wondering if a daisy growing out of the between the legs area is fatal too. What is that flower doing there?

Maybe it's just what happens when you turn fifty but Minnie looks like she is in serious need of a bathroom.

@sendingtheclowns ~ Ok, you win. I spent all day typing up legal descriptions for property deeds and my brain hurts. Or I'm directionally challenged

I can't stop giggling at the man biscuit cookies. Wow. I feel terrible for the gingerbread men that gave their lives catching those ice cream cones lol. Poor delicious things.

Since sweaters are worn in someone's general direction, I suppose that could include circumnavigation. After all, if you go far enough West, it's the same as going East (it just takes longer). Unless you continue to your point of origin, in which case you haven't really moved. Aren't we all in the West, geopolitically speaking?

Well, obviously, not "ALL" day, because you did step out to play...But you know what they say; "All work and no (etc)." I won't tell on you for taking a break! =^~.~^= want a cookie?

August 3, 2013 | Unregistered Commentersendingtheclowns

@Craig: Circumnavigate THIS. (Just kidding!)
You've confused me to distraction--but you're correct: you WILL still have moved, even if you end up where you started and after having cancelled out the circumnavigation of the Old West, where they had more cattle and fewer of the sheep, resulting in more leather and far fewer woolens (like sweaters).
I wish I still drank, because I could sure use a shot or two of something!! I hope you sleep well.
Myself-I'll probably be counting (no, not sheep) the few nerves I have left that aren't frazzled!
=^~.-^= zz?zzzz?zzz!

The face planting grooms are Brooks, Drew, and Chris - Desiree kicked them all off the island!

And I'm late cuz we were @ camp picking up KarateLady's Daughter on Friday/Saturday. (They have ceremonies you *must* attend that start Friday, finish Saturday morning, & then, at last, you get your kid back.) No sweater wearing there - 100 degree heat in West Texas Hill Country - Whew!!! (No cake, neither - unless you count cheesecake. I can't eat it anyway, so I didn't complain; the chef made sure there was some good food that us gluten-free folk could eat & that was enough for us.)

Anyhoo, here's my 2 cents - Great comments on the last cake by everyone (yeah, too many to shout out here :-), loved the haikuS (you know who you are); Good Wreckporting by Selena! (Glad they had the logo & I guess the reporter did her own captions since the cakes were from multiple posts but a few looked *very* similar to Jen's; also didn't like her comment about the crustacean on the baby cake; it's obvious that baby is either of New England (Maine Lobster; lobsterman dad maybe? or perhaps baby is Cajun & it's a crawfish) but I guess NZers (New Zealand/Kiwis) don't know about those things so I'll let it slide...; I wish I was invited to JustAndrea's party, but then if we (Wreckies) all went, the place might get a little trashed & all the cool publicity of the cops showing up, and the resulting story in the tabloids & all over the Web probably wouldn't make up for it... Congrats on the raise to Jodee, welcome back Gutz Gorrilla, hi to zoomom, long time no see - are you working on my cakes ;-) and should I plan on coming to pick them up in Canada? If hubby gets a job offer from N. Dakota, we'd be about 3 hrs from Winnipeg if that helps...though I prefer to stay in Texas (no offense... :-)

'a MAN BISCUIT please' - I'm now sniggering to myself at my desk :)

Hehehe... :-) Especially the last one.

(Am I the only one who thought of Gerald Ford when seeing the last pic?)

I would LOVE for y'all to come to my party! You would have to dress appropriately and there will be tests. If you do well, you will receive an O.W.L. : )

@Haiku Joy: I simply love you. Also, the more fondant babies you eat, the fewer I have to babysit. Win-Win!

@sendingtheclowns: Why thank you. A matching twirly curtsy to you. ; )

All this talk about sweaters is making me over-heated. How about I use the air conditioning in a close burst 10?

The three-way wedding was interrupted when the bride, groom, and groom took a tumble down the stairs.
