What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

How The Cookie Fumbles

Bakers think footballs are shaped like this:

 Or this:

 Or this(!!):

Or - lest you think the wrecks are always cupcake cakes (ptooie!) - this:

 Give the bakers a football-shaped baking pan!

It's brilliant, brilliant, BRILLIANT!!

The cookies, they mock us. THEY MOCK US, I SAY.

Ah well, at least we know they can't screw up baseballs.

Thanks to Beth H., Chris E., Erin M., Kathryn H., Jenesis E., & Jamie F. for the offer, but I think I'll pass.

@TLC: Oh, thanks for that. I've always wondered if the football-holder-guy (I don't follow football, OKAY?) had to make sure to turn the laces out. It seems like it would take up too much time.

@Barbara Anne: Always glad to see you here!

@mel: thanks

Much love to you @Barbara Anne. I have a blog that's mostly been sitting for the last couple of months because it seems everything I start to write about is depressing and makes me cry. We love you here at the blog that Jen and john(thoJ) built and will patiently wait for you to make it back to the commenting section when you're ready.

p.s. I've missed you too!
