What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

Foot In Mouth

It's National No Socks Day!

Time to kick off those shoes and socks and bare our soles! Woohoo!

And what better way to revel in the glory of all our freed tootsies than with a little cake, amirite?

[cranking up Footloose]

Hit it!

I didn't mean LITERALLY!

I have a feeling the rest of these are going to be equally unpleasant, guys, so you, uh, might want to put the coffee down.

Maybe if we just scroll faster...

Oh, we're done?

Well, that wasn't so bad, was it?

These are all nasty! Makes me wonder how proud the bakers are that they can re-create fungal toenails so realistically. Blech...

wonder how they will celebrate national Moldy Cheese day?

May 8, 2014 | Unregistered Commenterme too you all

Aw, they're not so bad. The third one's anatomically accurate. And the woman polishing the foot is well done. The first one is okay apart from the stab.

my thoughts are along the same line as BW's, why?

also, you have to wonder what bakers are thinking when they get these orders.

I am so grateful that this wasn't yesterday's post or my birthday cake would have really been not very appetizing lol. Wow..

Why? I mean, seriously... why? For what reason? What possible reason could anyone have to order a foot fungus cake? Or any foot cake? I get that at least one of them is probably a farewell to a podiatrist, but the others...? I'm stumped. (Pun actually not intended; I only caught it after I wrote it.)

The last one makes me think of that episode of Hannibal where Hannibal forces Gideon to eat his own leg. Gideon: "How does one respectfully decline in a situation such as this?"
Hannibal: "One doesn't."

I don't understand why anyone would want a foot cake in the first place.

#2 kinda makes sense, a foot cake with the name "Dr Pachman"; presumably Dr Pachman is a podiatrist, which would make a foot cake appropriate for him. ...But the rest?? No way!!

#7 looks like the podiatric equivalent of "the bird"... there should be a censor bar over that.

Scrolling faster indeed!!

An alternate title could be Podiatrist's Birthday Hell!

I'm catching up after being away for a couple of weeks. This post has to win the award for the all time grossest display of cakes (???) ever! Please don't even try to outdo it, okay? Eeekk. I think I'll need a sleeping pill tonight, cause I don't think I'll be able to put these out of my mind.

My brother is a foot surgeon.
I can't wait to forward this link to him!!!
It will make his day!
As a matter of fact, I wonder if any of these were delivered to any foot specialist he knows.
What a hoot!
And that one with the toe growing up over the big toe, eeeeeeeuuuuuuuuuuuwwwww! Ouweeee!
