What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

You Sure About That?

'Cuz California and Canada are gonna be pissed.

Thanks to Kelley B. for finding a classic case of "Atlas Shrugged."

Hooray for the Red, White and Blecchh! Poor's engulfed in a star spangled whirlpool.

Does this mean Canada's officially the 51 state? :P

As a Canadian I am not offended by this, because clearly Canada is not on the map, Canada is a bigger land mass than the USA, North American does not narrow at the top... clearly its just a poorly shaped USA.

Pictures are downloading fine, can see all the comments just fine too. But the pics in the "You might like:" are blank. Thanks, John(tHoJ), for the unending attention to upgrades!

Note from Jen ('cuz J(tHoJ) is busy): Sorry about that; we're working on switching and/or fixing our related posts widget, so it's going to be a little wonky for a little while longer. Fingers crossed we get it working again soon!

Well done Naomi!! You win comment of the day :D

And Ellen... not trying to be catty, but do you really consider "pissed" to be a naughty word?? :/

August 16, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterChantelle

Having grown up in such places, I can assure you there are many folks who consider "pissed" to be a dirty word. It is, frankly, rather crass, if you think about what the word literally means (and entertaining, on another level, when you contrast it with the way it's used elsewhere to connote drunkenness).

On the other hand, clicking on the image enlarges it and eliminates all the commentary entirely, so if one wants to share the image without allowing impressionable young minds to read the text, it's not at all difficult.

I guess this is what happens when you outsource your "make us a cake with the U.S. flag superimposed on a map of the United States" orders to China.

It's the America we all know and love, just shifted a little clockwise.

Honestly people, why such nit-picking...

If you follow the great lakes.... they really only added like a smidgen of Canada, the little bit that's above lake superior to the bottom of Hudson Bay, either way though the USA is quite the contortionist

At least they offered a discount!

Usually I cringe when others write poetry, especially when re-writing song lyrics.
But Naomi.........WOW. Those are some mad skillz. Everything about it, the rhyme scheme, the ye-olde-English vibe to it, the fact that it told a story......just WOW. I toff my writer's beret to you. That was fantastic.

In a dystopian future, talented cake decorators are disappearing every day, bakeries are closing, and people are left with only one question..."Who is Jen Yates?"

Sorry, as a huge Cake Wrecks fan and Atlas Shrugged fan I just had to write that. :)

That cake looks pretty good for having being made before the Lewis & Clark expodition.
