Sunday Sweets Falls For Fall

While I fully embrace early Christmas decorations, let's be real: it's still Fall, and I really, really, really love orange.

[whispering] It's so beautifuuuul.

Not to mention we don't get all the pretty leaves changing here in Florida - much less the cooler weather - so I've got to find ways to celebrate Fall everywhere I can.

Ohh, plus a Disney tie-in? BONUS.

There's so much to love in this one:

The top looks like a glowing candle! Plus the nearly-bare branch topper, the leafy frame, and the ombre orange bottom? YASSS.

Loving the peek-a-boo scene in this one:

And here comes the rare exception to my "no naked cakes" rule:

[I can't find the baker - help?]

This could almost bring me around on naked cakes, y'all. :D I like how the bottom looks like a giant whoopie pie - and all those leaves and acorns!

You don't see many grays or pale blues in Fall designs, which is a shame, because look how pretty:

The orange really pops with this! Plus those Wonderland checkerboards have me swooning.

Proof that we need more purples and bright yellows with our orange cakes:

Right? Those flowers bring the whole thing together and make it sing.

Speaking of flowers, here come my favorite kind:

ORANGE POPPIES. Heaven, you guys. Heaven.

Detouring from orange for a moment to show you one of the prettiest non-traditional Fall cakes I've found:

Those textures! Wood and rope and a sweet tarnished padlock, plus a peek-a-boo bear? It's just all so good.

And finally, back to orange with this incredible gravity-defyer:

Gorgeous.

I hope you all enjoyed, and are having a lovely Fall weekend! Happy Sunday!

And from my other blog, Epbot:

Absolutely Ribbeting

Y'know, maybe we're being unrealistic to expect acceptable cakes EVERY time we order.

I mean, what's that expression?

"You've got to kiss a lot of frogs to fi-..."

No, sorry, I said "frog."

Try again?

Still no.

You know, frog. Green. Hops. Lives in swamps.

[long silence]

I think we both know you can do better than THAT.

OK.

We both were wrong.

Really?!

Stop it.

LOOK, I just want ONE vaguely frog-like cake so I can do a kissing metaphor here. Is that asking too much?

Ew. Like ANYONE's going to want to kiss that.

Well played, bakers.

Well played.

Even though they almost made us croak, we jumped for joy when Deborah B., Kelly P., Wesley T., Loren K., Shae, Amy F., & Nicole F. sent these to our pad.
