Sunday Sweets Goes Green For St. Paddy's

It's a rare treat to find a cake as elegant as this Claddagh design for the holiday:

Who needs flowers with clovers this sweet?

So rather than featuring all Leprechauns and pots of gold, today I'm also mixing in some gorgeous wedding cakes in one of my favorite colors:

GREEN!

There's something so cheerful about bright emerald green, am I right?

Just like soft mossy greens make you feel at least 80% less stabby:

Srsly, next time you're stuck in traffic, think about this cake. It'll totally help.

Now combine those two greens, and throw in some teensy pink roses...

Aaaahhh.

That piping is blowing my mind. Perfect swags *and* brush embroidery!

This oh-so-subtle St. Patrick's design has the most incredible tiered tree on top:

You've probably spotted the pot of gold, but what about the tiny Leprechaun?

(Took me a minute!)

I heard a delicious rumor that this pot of gold is filled with a layer of cheesecake:

[heavy breathing]

[repeated attempts to lick the screen]

WHAT.

You know, I'd never have thought this color combo would work, but WOW does it:

And since orange is my favorite favorite color, of COURSE I'm feeling this next one:

Look closely; those lines are all hand-piped!

There's a new trend of making cakes as beautiful inside as they are out, and lemme tell ya:

I APPROVE.

In fact, since you really can't have a St. Patrick's Day celebration without at least ONE rainbow...

(By Rosie Cake Diva)

...here's a cake with ALL the rainbows. [squee!]

In fact, you can keep your pot o' gold, Mr. Leprechaun; I'll just take this cake.

Happy St. Paddy’s Day, everyone!

It actually took me a minute to realize what this was supposed to say.
Now I feel so... empty.

A grocery chain that shall not be named is doing a big Monopoly-themed promotion this month, so naturally, they had their bakers break open a game of Monopoly... and do this:

Mmm, Crisco-soaked paper.

(Do not pass "GO," do not collect $200.

JUST GO TO JAIL.)

Speaking of old board games, it's pretty clear this next baker doesn't...

[sunglasses]

HAVE A CLUE.

Words cannot describe the wild hope that seized my heart when I saw this cake:

...but sadly, I don't think that's the baker's actual credit card number.

Dangit.

Thanks to Aeron B., Cheree G., Jefferson L., Michelle R., & Tom S., who knows the only way to stop a charging baker... is to feel their shoes.

I know I'm a couple of years late on this, but did you know there's a Downton Abbey version of Clue?!

Clue: Downton Abbey Edition

Instead of murder weapons this version comes with tokens of items that were stolen, including a pocket watch, bow tie, and "lavender loaf." POSH POSH.
