What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

Do These Drumsticks Taste Funny to You?

Steph A., I'm pretty sure that this is the stuff nightmares are made of. Tasty, tasty nightmares.

Is this a CCCCC?!
Circus Clown CupCake Cake!

October 12, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterTaylor@MyOlderBrothers

This has to be one of the worst ccc ideas yet! Please! How could you possibly serve someone a cupcake with a "leg" on it??? Not to Anyone over 2!

October 12, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterKaren Valinda

Don't worry about the clowns, sweetie, they're quite 'armless.

October 12, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterHelena Handcart

Ewwww, I hate clowns....and this just further exemplifies why!!!! BLECH!

October 12, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterAmyb99

Perhaps it's lack of Sleep, but I think they're not nearly as Awful as some CCC's I've seen on here.

Pull off the Clown pick heads, and you've got over iced Cupcakes, with Sprinkles!

Why , what was once a Clown Leg is now simply a ..Oh, my.

October 12, 2009 | Unregistered Commenterscorpguy1028

I actually have nothing constructive to say, but my WV amuses me.

sydabl - the exact way you pronounce "syllable" when you have the plague of death, which I happen to currently possess.

Carry on.

October 12, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterTwirly McSwirl

It's like Cirque di Clown.

What is with all these pop ups about survey's? Never seen that here before. I'm not going to visit if I have to spend so much time clicking off survey pop ups.

October 12, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterCathy

I can deal with the one that at least has the leg ends under the torso blob. It's the one with the severely dislocated hip that bothers me...

October 12, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterKimberly Chapman

I'm not even scared of clowns but I think I might be NOW!

October 12, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterAlicia

They are all squatting, with sprinkles spewing forth from...well, you know. That's the first sign that you need help. The second is denial. What do you have to say, Mr. or Mrs. Wreckerator...?

WV: alesters: I'll need a few of these before this monstrosity starts to make sense!

October 12, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterCourtney C.

Uhg, I hate clowns... *shudder*

October 12, 2009 | Unregistered Commenterhattalahutta

Helena Handcart sez:
"Don't worry about the clowns, sweetie, they're quite 'armless."

Best comment of the day.

To eat this CCCCC, I gues you just pull off one of the clown's legs ... or his head ... and ...
EEEEeeeeeeeeeeee!

October 12, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterGary

Wee clown butterflies
flutter around the birthday boy.
Their laughs drown his screams.

October 12, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterHaiku Joy

@taylor: you forgot patooie...

@haiku: That's the stuff that horror movies made from

October 12, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterVeggieT

The one on the right seems to have his eye on the one on the left... creepy stalker clown.

October 12, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterJessica

Wow, the legs by themselves almost look like colorful penises....

October 12, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterAmber

Where are the arms? Or are those supposed to be the arms as those "feet" are just round blobs and as everyone knows clowns are actually Sasquatches who perm and dye their hair, shave and paint their faces, and wear comically large shoes to disguise their identities.

I want to draw and quarter my clowns, I demand arms...errr, legs....whatever!

October 12, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterSquirrel

Haha, Clowns on gyno chairs.

October 12, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterChatterley

C is for creepy.

October 12, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterHaley

Yep, that's exactly what I want for my Birthday... a cupcake with a limb from a clown on it.

October 12, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterJessie

So I guess these clowns were drawn to be quartered?

October 12, 2009 | Unregistered Commenterlisadh

Oh, god... where are their hands? What are they doing with their... hands? AUGH, NO! NO! PUT OUT MY EYES!

October 12, 2009 | Unregistered Commenterpickle

Best post title ever!!

October 12, 2009 | Unregistered Commenterdharmamama

oh, ewwwww!

And the position they're in?

ewwwww!

October 12, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterMiranda

Nevermind the hideous Cupcake Clown disaster -- all of todays COMMENTS are absolutely HYSTERICAL!! I can't stop laughing!! You guys are too darn clever!!!

"Clowns on gyno chairs" -- Bwwwwaaaaahhhhhhhahahahahaha!!

October 12, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterAndrea

I did the survey, pretending to be a 27 year old from Arkansas with a paid off mortgage, and it hasn't come back yet. I figured the richer and more target demographically American I was, the better for Jen.

It's Thankgsgiving today here, so I though the drumsticks were going to be turkey.

October 12, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterAviatrix

Taylor - it's worse than that! It's a CCCCCCC - A Colorful Creepy Circus Clown CupCake Cake.

October 12, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterLizard

Either they are giving birth to some horrible confectionary abomination or just fiddling with themselves...can't quite decide which.

...and push!

October 12, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterCaroline B

"Why , what was once a Clown Leg is now simply a ..Oh, my."

scorpguy...that's exactly what i was thinking...wreckerators-you gotta think about what happens when you pull these pull-apart cakes apart...haha...you get a "part" (snort) i just cracked myself up...

Happy Columbus Day to all!

(hey Jen, you got any Happy Columbus Day cakes?)

October 12, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterBonnie

I like the one on top the best. Blue frosting and a clown. Yum-my!

October 12, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterNatalie

You know, originally these were the only clowns I didn't feel like I should run screaming from. The little faces are actually rather cute.

Then I noticed that they look like little frogs. Clown frogs. With sprinkles.

*runs away* AAAAAAAAHHH!!

October 12, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterMelissa (& Billy)

Happy Thanksgiving from Canada!!!

October 12, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterPamela

Is it my own sick mind, or does the white on the clowns' bodies look like pairs of billowing-sleeved arms clasping together "somewhere" between the clowns' legs?

Don't tell me you don't see it.

October 12, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterAnonymous

Exactly WHAT are the clowns doing with their hands in their laps..EEWW!

October 12, 2009 | Unregistered Commenterteenarisley

'Scuse my French, but poullet d'autre un.

October 12, 2009 | Unregistered Commentermsyendor

Now, now, people - these were obviously made in recognition of National Cervical Health Awareness month. Sure, it's not 'til January, but that's not really the point...

Get your Pap smears, ladies!

October 12, 2009 | Unregistered Commentergaylechoo

Each clown's lap appears to be buried in a pile of cream. Their hands appear to be under that pile of cream... hmmm

October 12, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterAnonymous

It looks as if the clowns are giving birth....though I can promise you, birth does not include that much frosting.

October 12, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterBetty Crocker Experiment

Aaaah! clowns are so scary! Yuck! Haha! I wated to stop by to let you know that I have an award for you! Just stop by the address below to get it!

The clown on the bottom right looks like he's plotting something...

October 12, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterStephanie

I've always hated clowns and now I have more reasons why.

I love doing the WV - but not today for obvious censorable reasons.

WV - suckh. Really. 'nuff said.

October 12, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterKaren

What bothers me the most is that they are all spread-eagle. Eww.

October 12, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterErica C.

I actually took your Nielson survey because it said it would take 10 minutes and I wanted to be helpful...but it actually took a good 20, FYI.

October 12, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterAnonymous

October 13, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterMary
