What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

I can't wait for my retinement day...

Wow! You will be Miss ED! How amazing that someone has the power (on a cake!) (or is it a cookie?) to bestow the title "Miss ED" on some unsuspecting reader!

May 11, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterLynne

The last one reminded me of that wheat thins commercial work Stewie and Brian. 😂

May 11, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterCherise

I'm going to giggle about "3th" all day.

May 11, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterAnon

My brain got a cramp and my right eye is twitching.

I'm going to pretend that I'Ts a Girl!! is a cake purchased for an office building conference room, reminding people that information technology is not an exclusively male field.

"Projector's stopped working again. Call the IT guy."
"Our IT person is a girl. Did you not see the cake?"

May 11, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterKim L.

The fifth cake is obviously from Scotland: Aye, 'tis a girl!
As for the 20016 cake, it really is true that time fly's.

May 11, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterSuBee

Holy fly shawers Batman ....

We're doomed. That's what I think when I see such spell "misses"......

I shishes peeple could spal bettar!

At least I'm LMAO !

That cake for the class of 20016? The bakery found a really old cake in the back of the freezer and figured it could be updated easily enough.

May 11, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterKaren

An obituary in a local paper reported that the deceased "will be mist".

May 11, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterLady Anne

In all fairness......
I see an i that was dotted,
A word that was edited,
A HUUGE # of grads....and happy refurbished fork named Ray.
All in all, not a bad time to get back on my meds.
=^-.-^=

First I read that as "I is a girl!"

May 11, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterClassic Steve

So, my zipcode is 20016 so that one didn't even look wrong to me.

AT FIRST

May 11, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterCaity

Now, 23th is possible. I saw a sign for 23th Street in St. Louis.

The trick is to read it as Three-and-twentieth Street.

But that won't work on this cake.

@Lady Anne, your comment filled me with melancholy while making me snicker. I hope your day is filled with shawers of happiness.

May 11, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterSuBee

This is one of those posts where every cake made me laugh. So well chosen!

May 11, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterSeabird

I suppose it's possible that Ray is actually a fork...

May 11, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterGloom Raider

What are those pink things on time fly's cake? I can't unsee them.

May 11, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterChicago

Every time I see your posts I think, "these can't be real." I just shake my head and make the spelling corrections in my mind. :)

May 11, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterCarolSR

Lady Anne, the ends of our cemetery's sidewalks are stenciled with "EXIST." I think they meant "exit," but it does make one reflect...

May 11, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterTaffy Cake

If they really spell like that, it might take until 20,016 for them to graduate!

May 11, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterNancy

Maybe the 5th cake (sorry, I meant the "5rd" cake, or did I??) was decorated by a female who was recently hired by the Transportation Security Administration. Probably not.

"Ray the fork be with you!" (Just in time for Ray's "re-tine-ment")

OK, bye!

May 11, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterNeeta

Which is the post that has two radio commentators going back and forth about all the misspelled words on an education-themed cake? I would like to read it again.

May 11, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterRosa

Trying to decide if that should be pronounced "Threeth" or "Thirdth".

May 11, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterAndrea R

Maybe the 3th one is a woman's celebration of her divorce.

May 11, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterJMixx

Is a time fly like an insect time lord? If so, then what are they referring to as belonging to it?

May 11, 2017 | Unregistered Commenterrandomlyranted

Maybe 3th is the new way to spell wreath lol. Hard to say anymore considering all the ways I could never think of to wreck words and cakes at the same time. Ah wreckerators how I love you lol.

May 12, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterArlene Marie

The "You will be miss ed" cake made me giggle and now my co-workers are looking worriedly at me.

May 12, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterAllegra

Lady Anne: I work at a newspaper and I once saw an obituary come across for proofing saying the widow would receive guests/condolences "apple home" instead of "at the home." Since we live in an apple-growing area, and being fairly new to the area at that time, I scratched my head for a while, wondering if I was missing some obscure local reference. Then it dawned on me. I made the editing change.
