What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

Hi, it's john with Pan-Wow. This pan is shaped like a heart but it's also a pan so you can make cakes that are shaped like a heart.

A regular pan can only make cakes that look like a circle or a square, but the Pan-Wow can make a cake that looks like anything. Look at this apple.

You can't get an apple cake out of a round pan. Pan-Wow. It's a heart and it's an apple.

Use it at home, in the bakery, in the car or the boat. Going to a Halloween party?

Oh, no. Is that a ghost?

No. It's a Pan-Wow.

Going tailgating at the football game?

When you're done, just throw it in the dishwasher. It's metal. It's shaped like a heart. Look at these balloons:

There's three different colors.  You could use four colors.  Or five.  It doesn't matter.  Pan-Wow.

Made in Germany. You know the Germans always make good stuff. Use it for Christmas:

Why not? It's a Pan-Wow. It's a heart and it's Santa Claus.

What's that? You're graduating?

Now it's a hat. Amazing.

Got a steak? Put it in the Pan-Wow.

It's a heart and it's a steak. It's like a heart steak. But it could also be an apple/scary Halloween/ football/balloon steak. So many uses.

Is that the Easter Bunny?

And if you comment within the next five minutes, we'll give you a Pan-Wow absolutely free.* You can't beat that. Order now.

Thanks to Lisa S., Erin M., Shelley B., Melissa G., Marie H., Cristina Z., Jyap, Sarah S., and Anna C. who don't mind the three easy payments of $29.95.

*Plus shipping and handling. Other charges may apply. Pan-Wow may not be made in Germany. Pan-Wow may not be metal. Pan-Wow may not be shaped like a heart. Pan-Wow may not enjoy being taunted.

I want a pan wow to satisfy all my baking needs!

I can only assume those steaks are in a Pan-Wow because it's Valentine's Day, an assumption supported by the Pan-Wow strawberry dessert there on the right. That, then, begs the question--hot dogs? For Valentine's Day? If I come home and my sweetie has cooked up a fancy hot dog-based dinner, he had better be ready with something reeeeeally special wrapped in a box, and it better not be inspired by a Timberlake/Samberg SNL short. (Those not easily offended may wish to Google "Timberlake in a box" but NOT AT WORK..)

Bakers can just be so lazy sometimes O_o

Sorry, I want the baking pan that DOES enjoy being taunted. We have that kind of house.

Do not taunt Happy Fun Pan.

Haha...considering I just came over here from reading Facebook entries of Women in Agriculture I had to look twice to see the helmet. I originally saw a blue-eyed Holstein with a red bow.

Is it a cow?
No, it's Pan-Wow!

john(thoj), If I give you a cookie (or a peanut) will you NOT give me a Pan Wow?
(I'd prefer a "Pan NO").

I'm just surprised that you didn't use one of the "upside-down heart-shaped cake is really a butt" ones I've seen in the past. "It's a's a's Pan-Wow"!

July 5, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterChenaya

I loved this post this first time around and it is still funny. The graduation butt with the mortar cap is the best!

Congratulations graduate. You're an a** hat.

I would totally buy the Pan-Wow cookie cake that looks like the cross between Santa and that sheep that hid out in that cave for years and had like six billion tons (my rough estimate) of wool on it, but only because its cookie:icing ratio is the stuff my dreams are made of.

Heart shaped meat. For Valentine's Day? How would you present this? "I give you my heart, darling...on a platter...with steak sauce. Enjoy."

July 5, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterBlubonnet

The graduation cookie looks like a butt wearing a graduation cap.

This was just....Pan-wowbulous.!

This made me think of Rhett and Link's commercial for Chuck Testa, taxidermist:

As I was reading through this I found myself hearing the descriptions in Donald Trump's voice :-)
Buy the Panwow. It's great. Just the greatest.

#6 I forgot that I'll have to deal with all the alien mutant balloons all over again. Off to buy more liquor. Meanwhile, insert canonical balloon rant [here].

#9 Heart-shaped Hebrew Nationals still do not exist today. There is absolutely no excuse for this!!

At least the "baker" of the football, ahem, helmet, gave a signal: 86 it!

Much pan! Wow! So cake! Very dessert! Many baking! Amaze! Much shapes! Excite!

... But WAIT... There's MORE!!!!

July 5, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterBADKarma

Now I'm feeling super seriously old since to me this whole thing was logical considering every single Wilton cake decorating book had several different ways to use one type of pan. Guess I'm the wrong demographic. :)

WAY up vote for Dr. Handle!

Ah I love this lol. Pan Wow will haunt our dreams if you dare taunt it.

July 7, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterArlene Marie

I was really wishing I could add my "like" to some of these posts. That being said: the mortarboard hat over the heart shape made me think of huge breasts below the hat from a bird's eye view!

I'm pretty sure that last one is a depiction of the birth of the Easter bunny.
