Sunday Sweets Could Use A Drink

I am not generally one to imbibe, Sweets fans, because I have the tolerance of a chipmunk and usually fall asleep after 4 sips of hard cider.

However.

It's been a WEEK, am I right?

Now, while I mow through a box of these, let's gear up for New Year's with some beautiful boozy cakes!

Speaking of beautiful things, Edith celebrated her 80th birthday with a cake shaped like a bottle of gin. I bet Edith throws some awesome New Year's parties.

Ooooh, you guys. How adorable is this Tacos & Tequila cake:

SO SO ADORABLE. Look at the balancing taco! Also I just learned that Patron is tequila, so hey, this post is turning out to be pretty educational for me.

Here's one with all kinds of pretty cocktails:

Look at the sprinkle "bubbles"! So fun!

Then there's the gold standard of booze bottle cakes:

Jack Daniel's. The airbrushing on this one is phenomenal, it almost feels like we're looking into a glass bottle.

When people ask, John always tells them he likes fruity umbrella drinks - so this is perfect for him:

It's also breaking my brain, since I'm pretty sure the glass itself is real, but the drink is not. So what's it made of?? The color fade is so perfect! How?

For the beer drinkers out there, how about a giant mug of ale?

Dang, that looks delicious. The foam looks like real whipped cream! And again, more fantastic airbrushing.

Here comes another classic: the bottle of wine on display in every Italian restaurant:

WOW. I think I need a picture of a slice cut out to really believe that's cake! I mean... wow. (Anna writes that it's chocolate cake, but the grapes have nuts inside them. Clever!)

Speaking of things that are entirely too real... sometimes you just need actual bottles of booze jammed into a pretty cake:

I've seen a lot of real booze bottles stuck in cakes, and let me tell you, they're never this lovely. Gorgeous.

(Hang on, there's pink gin?? I am learning so much today. ::chomps another Brandy Bean::)

Oh hey, I almost forgot the most appropriate booze cake of all:

Champagne for the New Year!

There are so many ultra-realistic champagne bottle cakes out there, but I love this one for that exploding cork action. So, so pretty.

And finally, let's end with another fruity drink, in honor of the Christmas Tiki party John and I went to last week:

I both want to drink this cake AND eat it.
Because I DO like pina coladas.
And gettin' caught in the rain.

That ear worm is my gift to you.

:D

Hope you're having a relaxing week out there, my friends! Happy Sunday!

And for all you magical unicorns out there, here's something that can channel your mood AND hold a bottle of wine:
