Sunday Sweets Welcomes A Slice Of Fall

Recently I experienced something wondrous and oh-so-rare for a Floridian: I got a little chilly outside. That's right, my friends, it got down to almost 74 degrees. Granted, it was nearly midnight at the time, but I'LL TAKE IT.

So this is me officially welcoming Fall, the Sweetest way I know how:

And also the sparkliest way I know how:

Orange and teal is my favorite color combo, so I'm over the harvest moon for this stained glass beauty:

And this ruffly ombré reminds me of a crackling fire on a cold Autumn's night:

Rustic wood planks are the perfect contrast to these gorgeous flowers:

And this soft stenciling reminds me of aged plaster, with the perfect golden tone:

The doorway in this stone tower is a brilliant use of trompe l'oeil:

Like peeking into another world!

I've never seen ruffles quite like the ones on this middle tier:

They're like giant rose petals, but with a crisp modern flair. Love it.

More of my favorite colors - and a gorgeous reminder that Fall cakes can have cool colors, too!

The teal is the perfect backdrop for all those turning leaves!

And finally, a Fall stunner with the most amazing topper and art:

The umbrella, the falling leaves, those beautiful swirls of red hair... ah! That's it, I'm ready for sweater weather now.

Happy Sunday, everyone!

P.S. Need a sweet gift for the person who has everything? Then how about a card that transforms into a bouquet:

Fresh Cut Pop-Up Bouquet

I've been raving about Fresh Cut Paper for a while now, and they have a bunch of styles to choose from, including a new pop-up wreath for Fall! Go see!

And from my other blog, Epbot:

Against The Grain

Y'know...

...maybe the bride shouldn't have ordered a whole wheat wedding cake.

Thanks to Sasha M., for helping us remember the first year is always the harvest hardest.

Update From Jen:

I see your stalks of wheat, Sharyn, and raise you...

THIS.

Thanks to Robert V. for making like a tree, and swaying in high winds.

(I'd ask you readers who won, but considering these were both wedding cakes, I guess we already know who lost. Heh.)

Update from john (the hubby of Jen)

Ooh, ooh! My turn!

Sha-POW! Take THAT! Haha!

Thanks to Adrienne H.  for helping me needle my fellow writers. I'm pretty sure I sapped their strength. Also, my house is a bit messy so I should probably spruce up the place!

Three! THREE PUNS!!! AH. AH. AH!

P.S. Need to hide your eyes *and* listen to music or a good podcast? Then check THESE babies out:

Bluetooth Sleep Headphones

I listen to boring audio books on these every night to keep my brain from spinning out of control, which works wonders for my insomnia. I wear them like a sleep mask - like the model here - to block the light, too. These things have been a life saver: comfy enough for side sleeping, not too loud like some of my old speakers, and they only cost $20 Prime. Highly recommend!
