What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

Lost Exorcist Birth Scene REVEALED!!

Now here's a baby shower cake that'll really turn some heads:

"Get me an old OB-GYN, and a young OB-GYN..." *

Of course, the scariest part is that this isn't supposed to look like Linda Blair from The Exorcist; the baker was just going for a funny baby shower cake. Still, I'm seeing a goldmine of baby-shower-theming potential here!

Think about it: chilled pea soup and deviled egg appetizers? Pin the horns on the demon-child? The Poopy Diaper Game? (Admit it: you knew that thing was evil.)

Frankly, if someone doesn't make this happen, I'm going to be crushed. CRUSHED, I say.

Oh, and, you're welcome, party planners.

Thanks to Karen R. for making my head spin.

*Since I've never actually seen The Exorcist, I don't know for sure if the old priest/young priest line is in there - but I only use the most trusted sources.

I'm just glad he covered her up with a sheet.

Has no one noticed that she has two right feet? Wierd.....don't think I could even begin to eat this cake!!

April 18, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterLinny

The baker really should get out of the cake decorating business. This is truly tasteless in more ways than one.

Look at the FEET!!! It's like Exorcist meets Lord of the Rings.

I thought you weren't going to publish the unpublishable cake that everyone was going to look up on Google?

April 18, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterPsicomom

Hey, didn't we see this scene in the last Twilight movie?? I'm pretty sure this is baby Renesmee eating her way out of Bella. Right before Edward ate his way to Renesmee. Wait... did I just admit to watching that? I'm shamed.

I can't decide if her legs are crossed . . .

Minus the blue pedi, if I do get pregnant, I have a bad feeling that is what my feet will look like. (Swelling on feet that are already size 11?)

I'm pondering sending this to my sister-in-law, who's due with her first in three weeks. *wicked grin*

WORST CAKE EVER....!!!!!!!!!

I would love to meet the woman who gives birth in a turtleneck!!! So I can send her for a psych evaluation!! I couldn't even stand to have the stupid, flimsy, tushy-baring hospital gown on while I was in labor! Lol

Oh my god what......*passed out*

Saw that picture and first words out of my mouth (out loud) HOLY CRAP!

April 18, 2012 | Unregistered Commentergabsmom

Wow...who knew women flailed their legs wildly and look and looked like a horror film victim during childbirth? I guess I have a lot to learn about the ways of life.

April 18, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterHeather V

This page is convincing me that doing cakes that involve human figures is a bad idea. I think i will continue to dodge these.

April 18, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterNeroli

The baker at least made good use of the blue icing after using it on the tip of the fingers and the eyeballs. They decorated the entire periphery of the cake with spare eyeballs lol!

April 18, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterRR

Do not watch The Exorcist! As a fellow scare-easy person, I'm telling you, you don't want to see that movie. It took me years to get over it... no, wait... I'm still not over it. That cake brought it all back. Mixed with the horror of childbirth. Aaaaaaaaa!!!

Hey Sharyn, would you like to move to Canada and live next-door to me and be my friend who come over at 9:00 in the morning for coffee even though we are both still in our PJs? I think we'd have so much fun!

April 18, 2012 | Unregistered Commenterzoomom

You promised you wouldn't show that horrible Swedish cake!

April 18, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterPostmenopaws

I guess the person cutting the cake will be happy to put her out of her misery LOL.

April 18, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterSlinki

Jen, if you have to hide while playing the Ghostbusters game, then I'm pretty confident that you do not need to watch ANY Exorcist movie. Ever.

Is that a really ugly baby or a mother pushing? On this site one never knows (until the baker braves the icy coldness of the comments.) That shirt appears to be pea soup green. (Who wears a turtleneck to give birth? I’ve never heard of a woman complaining of being cold during hard labor.) The “border” looks disturbingly like nips and O.M.G SHE HAS A TONGUE?? WHAT THE HECK KIND OF CAKE CALLS FOR THAT LEVEL OF REALITY?!? BURN IT WITH FIRE!

@Sharyn great parody, of course, but -5 coolness points for giving me a Paul Anka earworm. I had the sense not to like that fool back in the 70s when that song came out.

@Andrea- WIN! I quote that all the time when things on this site fern me out.

@Craig here’s your hexed cake! I think we can all agree on this one. That turtleneck threw me, too.

April 18, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterBarbara Anne

So grateful that unbelievably LARGE left foot. Kept my eyes from straying to the rest of this cake!

April 18, 2012 | Unregistered Commentersuzeckis

Ok, I am absolutely convinced that bakers are now competing to see if they can get their baby shower cakes on this blog. I can't think of many other reasons why they'd create these things!

April 19, 2012 | Unregistered Commenterjulie

Good gods, for the two seconds it took me to see "baby shower" I thought it was depicting a woman being tortured and I actually jerked back from my screen in startled horror

That is one ferned up cake

April 19, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterSid

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek!!! Well at least like other posters have said her hoo ha was covered. I think with this cake and the Cthulu one earlier I am well off never ever having kids lol. Wow. At least this wreckerator was trying to be funny if only falling into the scary category. Also won't watch The Exorcist while home alone anymore..or Paranormal Activity films either for that matter. Scary.

April 19, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterArlene

Thats it, I'm never having kids O.O

April 19, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterMarie

@zoomom: Love too, if I can have diet pepsi instead of coffee...

@Barbara Anne: I'm SO sorry! I actually thought about whether it was right to inflict that song on everyone. I've loathed it ever since the first time I heard it. Making it about demonic possession was actually very satisfying.

April 19, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterSharyn

This is the stuff that nightmares are made of. I wish I could unsee this cake. After all of the horrors we've seen on Cake Wrecks over the year, you'd think nothing could faze me anymore.

*shudders* Have you seen her hands? She's got a bad case of arthiritis...

April 19, 2012 | Unregistered Commenter'Cindy'

by nail color am pretty sure it is a zombie birth cake. But I thought zombies made more zombies by biting people? Do you think the baby will be zombie too?

April 19, 2012 | Unregistered Commenterdrkala

@drkala the remake George Romero did of one of his films had a pregnant woman get bitten, becomes zombie and so was the baby when it was born...

@Sharyn it's not only that I had Paul Anka stuck there- the only thing that could get that out of my head was "Mickey" ohMickeyyou'resofineyoursofineyoublowmymindheyMickey I have no anitdote for that one (sorry if it strikes you, too)

April 19, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterBarbara Anne

@Barbara Anne -- I'm sorry I made you slip yourself a mickey.
