PROBLEM: 

Bakers think footballs are shaped like this:

 Or this(!!):

Or - lest you think the wrecks are always cupcake cakes (ptooie!) - this:

SOLUTION: 

 Give the bakers a football-shaped baking pan! 

It's brilliant, brilliant, BRILLIANT!!

Ah well, at least we know they can't screw up baseballs.
