What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

Yup! Those wreckinators are definitely suffering from Art Failure.

Maybe that last one was supposed to be Tinkerbell on meth. Or PCP.

Nailed it!

A Dream is a Wish for Nice Cake

A wreck is a missed mark messed cake
Made when skills are weak
A wreck fills your soul with heartache
Oh look, Ariel’s sprung a leak

I fear Cinderella’s hay day
Has passed long ago, sad but true
But what’s even more dismaying
(And I don’t think she’s playing)
Old Tink’s evil eye’s on you

Cinderella looks like she just found out Prince Charming isn't so charming...

I've always selected angel food cake for my birthday ever since I was old enough to have a choice, but not because my mom made bad cakes, unlike these wreckerators! This afternoon I'll bake my cake and know that it will be purple and delicious and won't require frosting! Happy Birthday to all of us lucky enough to share Lincoln's birthday!!

I never noticed that Tinkerbell had chameleon eyes that could look in different directions at once. The things I have missed in a lifetime of watching DIsney films.

That last cake is clearly Nazz from the CN show "Ed, Edd and Eddy"

Nazz Van Bartonschmeer

I will NOT clap! Bringing that Tinker back as a zombie does not bode well!!

February 12, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterRuthie

You sure that's not Cinderella's evil step sister?

February 12, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterNora

Tinkerbell looks like Wilma from the Flintstones. Actually, they ALL look like Wilma. If Wilma had been run over by Fred's stone-wheeled Flintstonemobile.

February 12, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterFM

Tink looks like Quagmire.

If Lois from Family Guy went as Tinkerbell for Halloween

1. Arial and Flanders never look good in a fish bowl.
2. I would like to introduce you to the ugly step-sister.
3. I didn't know that the zombie epidemic had reach the fay.

I don't care what you say. That last one is a perfectly reasonable Dennis the Menace cake.

Happy Birthday @Tabbymom! The fact that you're making yourself a purple cake pretty much guarantees we should be friends. :-)

1nd wreck ~ They actually didn't do half bad on Flounder. Poor Ariel needs to see a doctor, however.
2rd wreck ~ I think Cindy is stuck in the 80's with those huge shoulder pads! And she might want to see a doctor about that goiter. o.O
3st wreck ~ Should we tell Tink she has a caterpillar in her hair?

4nd ~ I miss Craig and KarateLady!

I forgot it was Lincoln's birthday (and I didn't get him anything)! Next, we have Valentine's day, then "Presidents' Day, which falls on Washington's birthday this year, followed by Mardi Gras, Ash Wednesday, Chinese New Year, and Spay Day USA--all in February! "You're going to need a bigger boat.". Heh.You know-for all the wrecks. (Frankly, I think a garbage scow would be apropos.) =^~.~^=
Aww, I'm with you, Jodee; we get used to folks and feel as if they're old friends. Maybe now they'll pop back in, because you sent a thoughtful beam of "care" out into the cosmos! (I hope so!)

Did someone mention my name? Here I am! ;-)

I'm thinking 'Bevis & Butthead Do Disneyland' isn't going to be one of the franchise's biggest hits. But I could be wrong.

I'm also thinking that 'Cinderella Joins a Biker Gang' is not the ideal bedtime story for little Samuya, but who's to say?

February 12, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterCraig

I laughed so hard at the Tinkerbell one. It's the best cake I've ever seen and I want one just like it for my next birthday.

A tribute to fun house mirrors, Shirley?

I figured you were floating around somewhere @Craig. :-) Writing my list up there made me think of you.

No baby yet but I just got a text saying she's having contractions! Of course she is. I'm signing papers and getting keys for the new house today!

Tinkerbell looks a lot like Courtney Love haha

My favorite part of #1 is that they left out Sebastian, and then added a bellybutton & gaping appendectomy incision** to Ariel.
Gosh, you'd think a princess could afford better healthcare than some cut-rate quack that can't sew sutures.

** At least I hope that's an appendectomy wound & the wrecker isn't postulating where a mermaid's...urm..."birth canal" is located. >.>

February 12, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterNerfbomb

I think you mean scary tale..

February 12, 2015 | Unregistered Commenterselkie

That first wreckerator definitely floundered a bit. Looking at Ariel brings on waves of nausea. I bet ordering that cake seemed like such a shore thing, only to end with so many egrets. Tinkerbell knows that something fishy is going on.

February 12, 2015 | Unregistered Commenterjackwire

Poor Cinderella looks like she had a stroke.
I think Evil Tinkerbell caused it.

February 12, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterSandy

I was saying I've seen worse until I got to the last one.

February 12, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterBea

Wow maybe the wreckerators read Grimm's fairy tales and this is what they came up with lmao. Poor scary Tinkerbell. I just hope she didn't kill Peter and the other kids. Scary that cake.
