What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

From This Day Fourth

It's May the Fourth, my friends, and you know what that means.

Time to cut up some old Star Wars posters and jam 'em in icing!!

Just look how excited algae-dusted Jabba is.

(Or... wait, is that not his mouth? I mean, I think I see nostrils below it, so... ohhh, THERE'S his mouth, way down there! Oknevermind.)

Did you have something to add, Darth?

Didn't think so.

Of course I could show you more Star Wars wrecks, my dear minions, but instead I'm going to be a rebel [snerk] and show you some AWESOMENESS.

Like this:

(By Lily's Cakes)

And this:

And this!!

And now a Storm Trooper on the toilet reading Top Gear, because why not:

Let's hope their aim is better in the bathroom.

And finally, the most epic awesomeness of all:

Darth Vader dueling a Care Bear riding a My Little Pony AT-AT:

You continue to win the internet and at life in general, padawan Sarah.
(Remember her last few Vader cakes?)

So, to sum up:

May the 4th be with you.

(And hey, J.J., don't screw this up. We're counting on you.)

Thanks to April S., Desirae, Angela H., Ashley M., Heather P., Janet, Jess & Sarah, & Megan O. for the Force-full wreckporting.

Update from john: The guy on the toilet is not Stig. Stig wears a solid white jumpsuit and a motorcycle helmet. This guy is wearing a storm trooper outfit and a storm trooperish helmet. Also, there's a blaster on the back of the toilet. As everyone knows, Stig keeps a flame thrower on the back of his toilet. Totally different. Also, that is clearly a space toilet. You can tell by how spacey it looks. You're welcome. -john (thoJ)

Once you get past Jabba the Toad and Glitter Vader, these are hilarious! Thank you!

(Sorry can't help myself with that pun!!!๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜›๐Ÿ˜)

There are no words to describe the beauty and wonder of these glorious creations. Well, I see there are two words (beauty and wonder,) but that's it. Maybe "wonder" isn't actually a descriptor, so one word. Anyway thank you, these are magnificent. Okay, two words...

I see Storm Trooper hiney. My life is complete! =^~.-^=

May 4, 2015 | Unregistered Commentersendingtheclowns

I don't think that's a storm trooper. I think that's The Stig from Top Gear, which would explain why he's reading Top Gear magazine. The Stig has never removes his helmet, so nobody knows who he is.

I want the Darth Vader vs Disney Princess cake

May 4, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterTamara

I thought the Stig-on-the-toilet cake was pretty cute, actually - and I'd never noticed before how much the Stig resembles a storm trooper!

โ€œSome say that heโ€™s terrified of ducks, and that thereโ€™s an airport in Russia named after him. All we know is heโ€™s called the Stig.โ€

Does Jabba the Melting Mass remind anyone else of the baby from the Dinosaur tv show?

Actually, a couple of these concepts would have been really cool, if better executed, especially Yoda on a unicorn.

And Sarah is the coolest little geek I've ever heard of. May the 4th be with her forever!

May 4, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterAthena

The Storm Trooper taking a poop just about made my week! Thank you!!

May 4, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterAngie

The Storm Trooper on the toilet reading TopGear is, I believe, The Stig from TopGear itself.

May 4, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterEmily

OMG those mash up cakes are awesome :D the pooping trooper is just so ridiculous it's hysterical XD

May 4, 2015 | Unregistered Commentermindy1

I don't think Darth is standing on a deflating Death Star, I think that's Epcot. ;)

May 4, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterJulie

I wish Sarah's mom would have been in charge of my birthday cakes... :)

May 4, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterRae

I want Jeff's Empire/MLP mashup cake. That's awesome!

May 4, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterNagzilla

Darth Vader riding Pinkie Pie. Check. Stormtrooper riding Rarity. Check. Other Stormtrooper standing behind what appears to be an Easy Bake Oven of some sort and there are Sand People rifles on the ground in front. Should we be concerned about just WHAT is being baked?

May 4, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterGinger

I was asked for a "girly" Star Wars cake last week. I never thought to combine it with My Little Pony. Sheer genius.

May 4, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterAllegra

Is it just me or does the Yoda on the unicorn look like the Mel Brooks, Spaceballs, Yoda?

May 4, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterMindy

Where's Leia on the Disney Princess cake? Well, maybe she was there and her dad said, "A metal bikini is not appropriate attire for the Death Star! Go put some decent clothes on at once, young lady!"

May 4, 2015 | Unregistered Commenterpikkewyntjie

Agreeing with those who said that is The Stig on the loo, not a Stormtrooper. (And it is darned funny!) The only thing that has me doubting this slightly is wondering why The Stig would have a weapon on the tank behind him...

I really want to know the story behind Yoda riding a unicorn, and wish that the poor unicorn didn't look so much like the victim of a liposuction gone bad. That could be a pretty awesome geek cake if not so wrecky.

But someone did let the air out of the Death Star in Cake #3 didn't they? Sad...

Still, May the Fourth be with all of you! :-)

May 4, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterCatherine

So that makes him Stig of the Dump.

May 4, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterPetal

Storm Trooper & Top Gear! Whoot Whoot! I don't think that is the stig because he wears a onesie driving suit. But maybe it is the Stig's Off Planet Cousin!

May 4, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterVixx

I think we now have photographic proof that Stig is the offspring of Jeremy Clarkson and a Storm Trooper. Well done Cake Wrecks!

May 4, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterBrenda

"My Little AT-AT" is a truly magnificent concept. I would love to see someone make a video of it, but they would get sued into the ground from two directions at once.

May 4, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterStephen

If the Storm Trooper is, as many have suggested, The Stig, why is there a firearm (sorry, limited Storm Trooper knowledge here,) on the toilet tank? Is it a speed gun?

May 4, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterNot Me

The AT-AT MLP is pretty genius.

May 4, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterJodee

I don't think the yoda on a unicorn cake is meant as a wreck, it's with the awesome cakes.

May 4, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterBeth

It was hard to tell, but I think that *is* a Storm Trooper... The Stig's helmet doesn't quite look like that, plus there's a weapon on the toilet.

So I'm gonna say this Storm Trooper just has a thing for The Stig. I mean, like, who doesn't amIright?!

May 4, 2015 | Unregistered Commentermysticalweather

My favourite is the 'yodacorn"! If only they had truly mashed them together..Would that be a yodacorn for reelz, or a yodataur?

May 4, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterMarym

Thank you, Jon, for pointing out that that is clearly not the Stig on the loo. It is the Stig's stormtrooper cousin, of course. And it's brilliant!

May 4, 2015 | Unregistered Commenterstaying anon

OK, I think I get it now. The toilet-cake shows a newest-Star-Wars-movie storm trooper, the black thing on the toilet tank is a weapon and not (as I first thought) driving gloves, and the whole thing's a clear demonstration that whoever designed the new trooper-armor was a huge fan of The Stig!

May 4, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterGoryDetails

that is so not the stig, and ps: i am devastated that top gear is kaput! :(

May 4, 2015 | Unregistered Commenteranon

Loved these cakes. So cute except for the melting Jabba and picture of Yoda jammed onto the cake.. yuck lol. And the trooper on the toilet is priceless I can't stop laughing.

May 5, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterArlene Marie

Sarah is one cool kid. Even my husband, a die-hard Star Wars fan, was impressed with her Darth Vader mash-up cakes.

May 5, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterMSTeacher3K

Judging by the deflated death star, I'd say the princesses won.

May 5, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterNobodee Home

Dear John, I just made a most disturbing discovery. It is a stormtrooper. It is Stig.
Oh my, Stig is a Stormtrooper lost in Top Gear.

ps I love all of Sara's birthday cakes, there awesome.

May 5, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterLisa

My 2 cents I'd that they were aiming for the stig but tried to cheat using a storm trooper body instead, as no one has pointed out that they have put sunglasses on it.

May 5, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterRachael

Did anybody else notice that the Trooper Pooper is sitting on a closed lid?

May 5, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterDonna

Cinderella to Jasmine: There goes the neighborhood.

May 5, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterBlackChocobo27

That dang storm tropper is pooping *on the lid of the toilet* - eeeeeeeeeek. Proof that strom troopers can't aim ANYTHING.

May 8, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterAMG that Darth Vader, standing on a football, brandishing a birthday-candle-saber and intimidating the Disney princesses in a meadow???

"Look! I am your fullback!"

May 9, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterJMixx

#3 In case y'all have forgotten, Leia is a Disney princess now.

May 15, 2015 | Unregistered Commenterrocketride

I'm thinking that the Storm Trooper one is from the pic online that says something like:

Oh, you have an Elf on the Shelf?
Well I have a Trooper on a Pooper.

May 23, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterJodie

Considering that Disney has purchased the Star Wars franchise, I actually love the Darth vs. Disney Princesses cake and think it would be a great way to celebrate Leia now as one of the Disney elite.

May 29, 2015 | Unregistered Commenternancy

Storm trooper forgot to lift the seat. Lol!!!
