What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

Guess What!

It's time to play everyone's favorite game:

Hm. Well, it says, "Princess," and there's a scepter and a tiara on it.

So I'm going with "uterus."

Also "uterus."

"Uterus on LSD."

"Uterus with sprinkles"

"This is getting ridiculous."

And finally, today's bonus round is in the bag:

The magic baby bag.

Awww yeeeeeah.

Hey, Mandi B., Elizabeth A., Vicktoria R., Caitlin & Anthony, Kelly J., & Shayna S., you know how to politely refuse a uterus cake, right? "Thanks, but I gestate."

July 8, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterMaureen

#1 Slimella, Princess of the garden slugs
#2 It's a "punch" bowl… see it even says, "Smack".
#3 A fancy pair of split crotch panties.
#4 A colourful banana hammock
#5 Another one, but in the tighty whitie version.
#6 Grandma's Sunday bloomers.

U is for the ugly cupcakecakes here
T is for the tripe in picture four
E 'cause every girl wants royal uteri
R They're purchased at a rotten store
U is, once again, they're really ugly
S but they look fine when one is stoned

Put them all together to spell uu-ter-usssss
Seeing these caused my girl parts to groan

Nothing cuterus about a uterus. Especially in cake form.

@SuBee your comment made me laugh so hard!

July 8, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterTheCreepyTribble

#1. Why did they ice so carefully around the bottoms of the cupcake papers?
#2. I see a plastic cereal bowl that wasn't actually dishwasher safe. Do they still sell "smacks" breakfast cereal?
#3. Yep. Psychedelic uterus. No other explanation.
#4. Someone scalped the Wendy's girl.
#5. Playing pool w/ golf balls? I can't explain the "Honk 'Em".
#6. I agree w/ Shirley Fowley.

Thank you for such a timely post. This is a perfect day for me to wear a corset.

"Thanks, but I gestate." ??? This cracked me up so much!!
I almost tripped over my fallopian tubes. =^-.~^=

@SuBee...another wonderful tune, thank you. Of course, it's already stuck in my head. @Jen...Hilarious post and your puns are spot on! Going to send this to a good friend of mine who is an OB-GYN, she's going to love it! And yes, I've already sent her a slew of other OB-GYN, themed wreckies from my fave site, this one! She's a wreck-a-holic now too!

July 8, 2015 | Unregistered Commentercookiemama

So glad my girl parts are long gone. The groaning might be awkward at work.

July 8, 2015 | Unregistered Commentermiss_paper

Crikey! What on EARTH is #4 actually supposed to be?!

July 8, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterJodi

The "princess uterus" cake & the "uterus with sprinkles" remind me uncontrollably of Jinx's hair from "Teen Titans Go!" (Yes, I have kids, but I have to admit I enjoy the show too.)

But since she's not a "girly" girl, hearts & princess gear don't really seem to mesh.

July 8, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterSaraCVT

Huh. best guesses:
1) a pink drapery swag or a sash with fringe? A pink crescent moon? (and looking at the swath of icing underneath the CCs holding them in place, this seems to not be a random it delicious icing or cupcake glue - or BOTH?!)
2) It's a lip, it's a lip, it's a lip, lip, lip, LIIIIIIIIIIIIPS, lip, lip, lip
3) Picasso's alligator head
4) Love Clown smile - without the scary clown face
5) I have a brother in TX, so I know this is supposed to be the University of Texas Austin uterus.
6) An oversized blouse celebrating someone's breast augmentation surgery

July 8, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterAllegra

"Uterus on LSD" made me laugh so hard I scared the dog.
Since nature decided to make it so I can't have kids, that's probably what mine looks like! :D

July 8, 2015 | Unregistered Commenterwildmaven

Okay, I get No. 2 are lips and No. 3 is a screaming clown. And with the help of "hook 'em," I can tell that the uterus that looks like big marshmallows is a Longhorn (although, as a UT grad, I'm highly offended by that depiction). The rest belong on Pinterest.

July 8, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterMary C

gestate took a minute to sink in but then ... uproarious laughter! :)

July 8, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterElly

I read the first one as "princess balls"

July 8, 2015 | Unregistered Commenterkatiehippie

I thought cake #2 was a pink cauldron, which is my new code name for a uterus :)

July 8, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterMom A

If that's not a uterus on LSD, then I don't know what is!

July 8, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterAmanda

I never would have thought that the Longhorns emblem would lend itself so well to looking like a uterus. Hook 'em indeed.

July 8, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterGinger

Chocolate chip uterus? That would explain the cravings....

My vocabulary ever expands: penishy, cuterus, ..

July 8, 2015 | Unregistered Commentermsanthrope

The next to the last says Hook'em and it's a longhorn steer for University of Texas. ;-)

July 8, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterStacy

Being from Texas, I figured out that #5 is supposed to be a Texas Longhorn. It's should to say Hook'em, not Honk-em. Failure on all counts.

July 8, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterAllegra

The first one also looks like Jinx's hair (Teen Titans Go)

July 8, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterLaura

What is the pink fuzzy stuff on the first cake? On the other hand, do I really want to know?

July 8, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterLady Anne

@Allegra~ "5) I have a brother in TX, so I know this is supposed to be the University of Texas Austin uterus." made me snort! Thanks for that!

I also see Princess Balls on the first one. That makes about as much sense as it being a Princess uterus.

P.S. Va-Dragon is my new favorite word! Hah!

July 8, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterJodee

The orange and white cake that says "Hork 'Em" looks the most anatomically correct to me. The uterus on LSD seems to have orange ovaries. I'm still trying to figure out what the rest of the cakes were intended to be.

July 8, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterChicago

1 & 2 - These really look more like kidneys than uteri. Having worked in both nephrology & obstetrics, I feel like I'm fairly familiar with both organs. :-)
3 - I don't know what it could possibly be BUT a psychedelic uterus.
4 - Is that a fuzzy caterpillar?
5 - Yes, yes, it's supposed to be the Hook 'Em Horns thing. But it's well-known that the Texas Longhorn symbol looks just like a uterus, complete with fallopian tubes. The only people who'd say otherwise are UT fans in denial.
6 - Ruffly granny panties?

July 8, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterLizzy

Princess Belle looks like a stomach, and Pucker Up looks like a liver.
The others, yeah, utreuses (uteri?), except for the last one, which looks like a polka-dot grouper swimming toward me in bad light.

July 8, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterGary

I just realized something...HOURS later! We can't really guess anything, because you didn't ASK any questions!!
You made an exclamatory statement!!! With the exclamation thingy at the end!!!!! And everything!!!!!

July 8, 2015 | Unregistered Commentersendingtheclowns

#2 & #4 are both lips/mouths. #2 says pucker up and #4 the sprinkles are the outline of the lips.

July 8, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterBeth

1. All I see is a smiling slug holding a scepter.

2. Chamber pot.

3. Umm... Uh... Uterus on LSD. Yeah, that's about the only guess.

4. Possibly meant to be a heart, but I have this sudden urge to re-read Pippi Longstocking...

5. I have enough Texas relatives to know what it's meant to be, but yeah, it really looks like a uterus.

6. Polka dot angel wings?

July 9, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterSeabird

I have a banner ad for tampons on the top of this page. Lol. Apparently when used properly they are easy to insert. Makes unappetizing cakes even more so.

July 10, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterAudrey

Well all these uteri have made my poor hubby laugh then walk out of the room lol. Sheesh. So much wreckage and so hilarious I have no idea what they were supposed to even be.

July 10, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterArlene Marie

1. Princess Kidney. (Also what's with the icing on the bottom?)
2. Don't know why, but I see a fanny pack.
3. Uterus on LSD is obvious the only explanation.
4. The joker's mouth after he eats all of the sprinkles.
5. The Longhorn's new marshmallow mascot.
6. Really messed up chocolate chip cookie.

July 10, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterNerdygingergal

And suddenly we have the answer to "What type of cake to get for a First Moon party."

July 12, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterGale

Obviously...#1 is...LUMPY SPACE PRINCESS!!! Duh guys.

July 16, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterSarah J

I have three kids so my uterus has lost its sense of humor. The rest of me, however, is laughing my eggs hurt. I don't remember the last time I laughed this hard...but I'm pretty sure it was before I had three kids.

Thanks for the Texas Longhorns explanation. After four pelvic pastry pictures, there were tears in my eyes, clouding my vision. By the time I got to Mr. Longhorn, all I could make out were fallopian tubes and ovaries.

July 27, 2015 | Unregistered Commentermarie

Had my 6-week post-hysterectomy checkup today. I really needed this! Because I can't celebrate my womblessness with real cake due to dietary restrictions, reading this page was a celebration in itself. Thank you!
