What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

Not-So-Basic Instructions

There's a certain creativity to literal LOLs - a kind of "outside the box" thinking that never fails to impress me. The kind that says, "Oh, you want the words written in purple? THEN THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I WILL WRITE."

"But not necessarily in that color."

Also, it turns out those are not garbage bags in a windstorm.

You might think it would help to spell out the name for a birthday cake, but that's not always the case - as "Alison with one L" discovered:

Wait for it... waaaiit for it...

And lest you think it's better to write it down  - and perhaps add a helpful footnote:

Adding a P.S. is never a good idea, either:

The fact is, sometimes wreckerators just have a hard time getting the picture:

Or maybe they just really stink at drawing.

I cannot believe the last cake is real! I hope no one had to pay for the cake.

When decor you wish to elicit
It's best to be clear and expicit
Though when dealing with cake
Dear, please make no mistake
Your baker will probably miss it

In the first cake I read alli, which means here in Spanish. I didn't saw the n for the "all in".

Literal with bad spelling. Oy! o.0

And those aren't trash bags?! Double oy! 0.o

Wow, it boggles my mind that the bakers can actually look at these finished cakes and think "yes, that's good, that's exactly what the person wanted". P.S. they left the apostrophe out of "yall" but I'd sure love to meet Uncle Mouse!

Who's the guy who loves his cake
As sprinkled as can be
It's U-N-C-L-E M-O-U-S-E

Who's the guy who's glad his cake
Is all asterisk free
It's U-N-C-L-E M-O-U-S-E

"Uncle" Mouse
"Uncle" Mouse
At least a post script didn't ruin his cake

Join us now and wonder
Why these cakes were not all free
For U-N-C-L-E M-O-U-S-E

Yeah, "Uncle!"

Yeah, "Uncle!"

Yeah, "Uncle" Mouse!!!!!

Did you notice that the Diane one actually says "Happy Biuthday Diare"? They manage to get two humps on that first R and only one on the N...

These are some hysterical cakes. Especially the last one. I mean.... why would you want a picture of a mouse on a cake for your "uncle" anywho? I don't get it. Must be some kind of "family" inside joke.

Yall.... what is that? You have to ask because NO apostrophe! Another ROTFLMAO!

* Yeah. You need that "n" in there so "Diane" is not "Diaie" Too funny.

Third cake: "CLEAN UP ON AISLE FOUR! Someone sneezed on a cake! (Muttering sounds) "No, no...just mark it down!!!"

April 12, 2017 | Unregistered Commentersendingtheclowns

First cake: Red and blue make purple, right? Oh, so close... And I thought "alli" was a weight loss product.

Last cake: Uncle Stanley had always been told he was the "picture of health"...

April 12, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterNeeta

DARN close, on the pink "p.s". cake.
The flowers are fine, I thought...pretty little swirls...
The inside?
There could be hurls.

Oh Common Sense and Intelligence! You two are a couple that went on your honeymoon and never returned! There's a secluded beach somewhere and these two are frolicking on it with all the beautiful, perfectly executed cakes.

Perhaps Alison was just accepted to law school, making her a "1-L"?

April 12, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterRepubAnon

I've said it before, just leave off the writing. All of these (well, maybe with the exception of the garbage sack one) are acceptably decorated.

Oh man those are hilarious. Now I feel bad for the poor deflated balloons cause that's what they look like to me lol.
