What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

Love this This + That = WHAT series! Too funny!

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterMaGriz

I feel the need to use this as my identifying photo across the internet.

I am also unable to decide if I should laugh or cry. It is...

magnificent.

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterFluffy Cow

I just want to know who was brave enough to put that bunny bonnet on the sheep who shall not be named.

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterAmy

That's horrifying, in a morbidly fascinating kind of way.

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterErin

Checking cakewrecks is part of my daily coffee break, but the last two days this blog has terrified me! Why? Why do these cakes exist? ...why...*shudder*

I don't know if I can ever watch Shaun the Sheep again.

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterNicole

Oh Sweet Cadbury Bunnies! I think that thing is going to eat my face off!

(all it needs is a cigarette to be complete!)

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterAshley

Cake of the baker, unwillingly given. Talent of the decorator, willingly sacrificed. Cash of the customer, forcibly taken. The Dark Sheep shall rise again.

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered Commenterzoomom

I THINK it's the teeth (and the eyeballs) that make the sheep look so bad. I know it's the teeth. The fact that my eyes start to water when I look at the eyeballs suggest they might have something to do with it as well.(Just put the picture in paint; it's not nearly as creepy without the teeth.)

And who knew that Lord Voldemort had a sheep nose?

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterMuria

I thought it was quite a good rendition of the sheep from the Pixar short called Boundin'.

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterJude

Voldemort's pet or Polyjuice Potion gone wrong?

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterMarie

Oh my God. Stifling those hysterical giggles at work was hell. Will. Not. Look. Again. Ugh.

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterLy

Don't buy into the hysteria and call it "Ewe Know Who." It's just a sheep. Call it by name -- "Wooldemort."

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterSharyn

Who knew sheep had giant chiclet teeth??!

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterJulie

Methinks this should be served on (Florida) Gov. Scottdemort's Easter table. I wonder if he would recognize himself in it?

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterAnna B

O_O *shudder*

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered Commenteremmbeedee

Why, oh why, do people do this? Have they no self respect at all? LOL :)

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterChocoMare

What the bloody hell is that?? The teeth...the teeth will haunt my dreams.

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterChuck Baudelaire

It's a face only a mother could love!

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterEla

OMG The teeth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am booking an appointment with my dentist NAO!!!!!!!!

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterScifimom

I just barely swallowed a scream. I need a Weasley to feel better.

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterJulephenia

Wow, Happy Easter, huh?
Nothing quite says, "Hosannah, Christ has Risen," like a voldemort bunny cake!

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterMary Connealy

Dear lord, that thing looks like it'll turn ME into shishkabob-that is one horrifying cake D:

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered Commentermindy1

The sad part is...I would totally buy that cake as a joke for a friend. Especially if I'd just promised to make an unholy sacrifice in exchange for a big favor.

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterDiana

I bet the baker thinks this looks awesome. I'm going to have nightmares over this one.

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterToni

Oh, god, my nightmares are going to have nightmares....those eyes, and those TEETH...now I know how Red Riding Hood felt

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterShelli

zoomom and Sharyn for the win!

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterGretchen

On some weird level, I find this one strangely compelling...do I need therapy?

Have you seen the movie 'Black Sheep'?
"An experiment in genetic engineering turns harmless sheep into blood-thirsty killers that terrorize a sprawling New Zealand farm."
It's brilliant!

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterCarolineB

I. Can't. Stop. LAUGHING!! That is one of the funniest cakes you have ever posted! Zoomom's and Shrayn's comments just make it better. :D :D Haha "Wooldemort" *snorts*.

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterLucy from Scotland

The bulging blue eyes make me think this might have started out as a Serta sheep.

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered Commenterjbrecken

That is Voldemortifying.

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterMelissa

Arrgggg! I can't decide wether to be saying awww! Cute... In a mutant sheep way. Or, AhhHhhhh! Run from the mutant sheep!

*Rubbing face in frustration*

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterSilverbug12

To quote a fellow poster from a couple days ago, "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.... (pantpantpantpantpant).... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!"

@Muria, you mean, "...look so baaaaad."

@Sharyn, you outdid yourself there! *wiping tears from eyes* That was too funny! *blowing nose* How do you come up with this stuff?

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered Commenterzoomom

OK, now that I've got Wooldemort, I have to fill in the rest of the sheepish cast -- Baaaaan Weasley, Hermione Grazer, and Hairy Cutter -- The Boy Who Clipped.

@zoomom -- brilliant

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterSharyn

Oh, that cake is a baaaaadddd rendering of a sheep!
The person who bought this got fleeced!
I want to pull wool over my eyes so I don't see this!
I feel suddenly sheepish for commenting

(EXCELLENT zoomom!!!)

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterMaureen

The horror - the horror!

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterNicole

This Cake == Nightmare Fuel

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered Commentertheblackdog

Love me some Timmy! And the next time my six-yr-old and I watch Harry Potter and he asks me if Voldemort is the bad guy I can say "No son, he's not bad, he's baaa-aaaad."

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterAmanda

But, what are those blobs on it's back and leg? Is it growing? Cancerous? About to perform mitosis?

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterMetzgirl

My three-year-old (perhaps correctly) identified this as a "skeleton-rabbit-sheep." Yes, honey, it is.

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterJulie

One of the great posts! Zoomom for the WIN!

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterLabgoddess

I've never laughed so much out of sheer terror.

Haha, "sheer."

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterMay

It's a Deathbleater (TM)!

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterRZ

Alternatively, it could be the Gruffalo in a sheep suit. Wearing bunny ears.

I'm scared.

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterJoan

The sad thing is, someone put in a lot of work on that. Perhaps if they had used a colour, it would have been a bit less scary looking...

Or not.

March 29, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterAliza

How can people make stuff like that? You would think it would be EASY to make a sheep.
