What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

Five dollar penalty!

Seriously? Try again.

...and the best way to see them.

Think anyone will notice?

and finally...

Missed Point:

(Hey, waaaait...)

I think it's time to put all these bakers into Time Out.

Hey, I want seats at mid field on the 20 yard line.

Due to leap years and some complicated mathematical formulae, every six years my birthday falls on Super Bowl Sunday. One year, long ago, a boyfriend threw a wonderful surprise party for me: All of his friends were there and there were lots of beer and chips. At some point he asked me to go pick up my birthday cake, so he wouldn’t have to miss any of the game. So I did. I picked it up and went home. It was delicious. I’ve always liked ice cream cake.

He did NOT love me more than football.

This Sunday my husband is taking me out for my birthday. He loves me more than football. Maybe he’ll get me that cake!

Actually, I like the "I love you more than football" cake. It's nicely done, and I know some people who would be very qualified to present this cake to their significant other.

I'd rather pick up a cake where someone made a mistake and at least tried to fix it, instead of crossing it out and starting over. Yikes.

I suppose I could get the "Were #1" cake for my husband. He's am Eagles fan.

Also, I think the "I love you more than football" cake is brilliant. It'd be a nice way for a game-obsessed husband to apologize, right before he locks himself in his man cave for the Big Game.

Does no one realize that "Opps" would be pronounced like operation, but shortened? It should be "Oops". Drives me nuts! :)

Or eject them for "Undecoraterman Conduct" for those fouled up football cakes!

Depending on the man (and the woman), the "I love you more than football" one might actually be a huge compliment...

I giggled for a full minute at #5 and then I started thinking about those "Super Fans" skits from SNL with George Wendt and Chris Farley ... O.0

6th wreckphoto down: There are four too many balls, there--and the PLAYERS aren't even on the field, yet. Should we call interference, or tech support? =^-.-^=

"If you love me that much, why is there a football ON THE CAKE!?"

"Were #1... now we're #2."

Thank you, @Mindy2! I've never understood how anyone can misspell "oops" as "opps"--it makes no sense to me. I mean, they wouldn't spell "boots" as "botts" would they?!
But then . . . maybe they would. Think of the spelling on many of the other cakes we've seen on this site. {shudder}

The tight ends at #5 reminded me of my favorite church sign ever "God does not give you no more than you can bare." I choose to believe the pastor was trying, badly, to tell some of the congregation that maybe they should leave something up to the imagination. Or maybe using the double negative for emphasis (archaic usage and still badly done) and suggesting they become a clothing optional church?

Incomplete Pass is definitely not a baker wreck. It is well executed, elegant and correctly uses "than". Maybe a customer wreck, but I'd hire that baker!

I love this sooooo much. Well played, Sharyn. Well played.
(especially the bare tight ends- whooooraaaah!)

mindy2 I did not know I had a sequel :P, although I agree it's hard to misspell oops. These cakes would be good for me as I know nothing about football.

Lol!! At least none of these are deflated today. Considering I am clueless about football anyway I just stay far from my dad when he's raving at the tv lol.

Please. Enough football already. Can't we have one place on earth to get away from it?
