What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

A Poo For Love

The Tale of Boo
the Disco-Dancin',
Tootsie Pop

One day Boo was called in to deal with some overly amorous amphibians.

They were quite persistent, even in death:

No sooner had Boo dispatched them with a well-placed disco point and shoulder shimmy, when a pack of wild lips appeared!

Boo was terrified, but knew her true love would save her.

So she threw a bunch of footballs, and soon the flying lips were no more.

But, look! Here comes that fecally foul villain, Mr. Poo-ter Butt R. Flies, and his band of flying butts!

"We're number 2! We're number 2!"

Boo prepared another volley of footballs... but then something amazing happened.

They gave Boo a gift.

It smelled terrible, but Boo couldn't help but smile.

"What can I say?" said Boo, the break-dancin', cowboy-hat-wearin' Tootsie Pop,
"I guess I'm just a sucker for love."

Thanks to Claire, Jessica N., Donna H., Jaime W., Christina C., Amy R., Tiffany G., & Kyra for that poo-tiful tale.

Hey, Boo...

Gee, it looks like a rose to me. I had to try a little hard to see a cowboy hat on a Tootsie Pop.

February 10, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterClassic Steve

I did NOT see that coming!

Please tell me that cookie with the lone heart and random sprinkles was decorated by a child. Please, even if you have to lie!

No sweet little boy to hold yet. I did find out that one of my nieces had her baby last night though! 5 weeks early and an emergency C-section but Benjamin Michael is a healthy 6 lbs 20 oz. Yay for babies! Now I just need this little boy to get here so I can truly begin the next stage of my life.

Actually, those green guys on the third cake are kinda cute.

Jen, you can tell me a story anytime!

I can no longer eat while reading these posts, as I am almost choked several times while reading. This was absolutely hilarious, Jen.

SuBee: thank you. Lovely. And so au courant.

Jodee, I hope someone brings you and your almost-here a wonderful cake to celebrate, and you share it here, wreck or no.

and I have a serious question: these "decorations" that are basically piles of colored "frosting" ... is that ... uh, stuff ... edible? it looks like whipped Crisco. I guess with some sugar in it. Is that what it actually is? E.g., today's Cake #3. Thank you! Dyin' to know, but not dyin' hard enough to go buy an example and eat it.

SuBee, made my tear up. It probably wasn't intentional. The name "Boo" just doesn't automatically conjure up images of disco-dancing Tootsie-Pops.

Y'all carry on while I pull myself together over here by Jem, Dill, and Scout.

Funny story though!

Jodee you're sweet boy will be here soon it's a boy, therefore a 'tiny man' which means he refuses to ask for directions to his destination, but he will find his way soon. God Bless for a happy healthy lil one to hold and a big Lurrrve cake to share.

Jen..I Shared your story today with my office, and they all need new monitors now from snerking coffee, water, etc. from the laughter. You never cease to amaze me and delight my dear girl! Has Jimmy Fallon heard of you yet? 'Cuz he should. You belong on T.V. sharing your blog and posts. LOL

That's not what frogs look like. Not even Disney frogs! We watched The Princess Frog last night. I love Ray the Cajun lightning bug. He's my favorite.

What on earth was that smear of thin white . . . something? Perhaps the decorator (a generous title) cried over his/her creation and then realized that the waterbath improved the effect.
This website always initiates that most famous of cynicisms,"they walk amongst us, etc"

Call me crazy, but in the first picture, I see a rose riding a jet ski while flailing its arms around.

Oh man can't catch my breath I am laughing so hard.. still sick so that is quite the feat let me tell you. There are no words to express what I think of these scary things lol.

Poo-covered cakes, sprinkles, hideously decorated giant cookies, CCCs (ptooie!). This post has it all. Well, except all the words are spelled correctly.

To Kill a Mockingbird is one of my all-time FAVORITES!!!! (And I'm going to feel silly if you weren't referencing that, but I'll probably never know it, so...) -^~.~^=

I see a surfboarding rose wearing a cowboy hat in #1, MSTeacher3K. You're not alone.

Teresa from Portland: a jet skiing rose totally makes more sense, right? Heehee
