What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

And Speaking Of Frozen...

If this site has taught us anything, it's to be specific when you order a cake. After all, as Lynn's grandmother discovered, one person's "Ninja Turtle cake" is another's "Meh, just stick an empty pencil box on it."

I like how the green sprinkles really tie the whole thing together.

And speaking of Frozen...

Admit it, bakers: at this point you're just screwing with me.

Now, you might think that if a bakery only had to put a single edible image on a cake - an image that you made and printed out for them - then there'd be no possible way for that to go wrong.

You might think that...

...but you would be so, so wrong.

(Clearly the baker just wanted to protect the identities of those poor musicians.)

I call this one, "Indecent Proposal:"

Tricia actually wanted the baker to draw a sad face, but I think this still works:

And finally,

The Good News: Airbrush stencils are easy, guarantee correct spelling, and save time!

The Bad News: People are still dumb.

Thanks to Lynn M., MJ, Robin C., Liz A., Tricia M., & Tia K., who's pretty sure that baker will never invent Skynet, so hey, SILVER LINING.

1) I think the "Mutant" part is in the baker's brain.
2) I'm trying to figure out what this is, the results from an EKG or a seismograph?
3) The musicians are in the Witness Protection Program and the baker is in the Witless Protection Program.
4) Not gonna go there. Wouldn't be prudent.
5) And the other person should send a cake that says, "Put on a Happy Face".
6) Maybe this baker was part of the backwards episode in "Red Dwarf".

That last one makes me despair for the human race.

Hmmm.... would you settle for a rusted tin lining? offer.

Hey, I like the first cake. It looked chocolatey, and IT HAS A COOL PENCIL CASE ON TOP!! Seriously! A PENCIL CASE! The best cake in the world would be Princess Godzilla holding the cool pencil case! I'm old enough to be a member of AARP and I want pencil case cake for my next birthday now! (It could also be notions case cake--for knitting, crochet, sewing...crafts in general...dice box....) Really, what sane person WOULDN'T want "cool-case-cake?" Excuse me, I have to go find a Godzilla for cake decorating....

Wait-wait--what if you put confection INSIDE the case? Like a frosted cookie, decorated with a needle holder, that has a cupcake painted on it....CASE CAKE-CEPTION!

Green sprinkles on the first cake, frogspawn or turtle eggs?

Is the real cake inside the pencil box? Maybe they wanted a TMNT/Inception mashup.

With the Frozen cake, it looks like they put the flotsam on the cake, then took it off. How else to explain the mark on the right-hand side?

Well, Yov? Will you? ANSWER ME!!!

I am laughing so hard right now. I bet by this point the neighbors think I am either insane or a hyena lol.

Ananymous, that's a great idea. Just don't ask any of these bakers to do it, OK? If you asked baker #1 to do it, he would probably DRAW a Pricess Godzilla holding a pencil case, and you would not want to see that Princess Godzilla. Trust me.

the TMNT pencil box is a bonus gift?
